Information about what each role entails is listed below and will be provided again within the survey to reference when you are nominating yourself or your colleagues.

Self-nominations are not only welcome, they are encouraged.

Leadership Team:

The ADVANCE Leadership Team is a diverse group of faculties who work closely with the ADVANCE Faculty Director and the Program Director to regularly assess faculty needs, drive innovation, develop new programming, promote transparent communication with faculty, and serve as liaisons to other groups and initiatives that share equity goals. We strive for a team that is diverse in terms of social identities, ranks, faculty roles and disciplines.

Equity Leaders:

Equity Leaders are a diverse group of highly respected faculty members tasked with developing and delivering anti-bias and bystander trainings. They also guide initiatives that foster a sense of community responsibility for addressing daily biases and microaggressions and promote institutional norms that counter marginalizing social identity-based indignities.

Advisory Board:

The Advisory Board includes individuals from within UMass Lowell with experience and expertise related to the mission of the office and help to ensure that the work of the office is responsive to diverse faculty constituencies and coordinated with other university DEI efforts.
