Each fall, as classes get underway, so does employer recruitment. UMass Lowell has employers who return year after year to recruit students for internships, co-ops, part-time, and full-time opportunities. This semester, the Career & Co-op Center is holding three major recruiting events to facilitate connections between students and employers.

Accounting & Finance Career Fair
The annual Accounting & Finance Career Fair will take place on Tuesday, September 21 from 4 - 6 p.m. Employers from several industries are participating to recruit individuals interested in accounting or finance careers. More than 35 employers will be in attendance, including: Boston Scientific, Fidelity Investments, Internal Revenue Service, Liberty Mutual Insurance, MFS Investments, Massachusetts Treasury, RSM US LLP, and Wolf & Company, PC.

Fall Career Fair
Our Fall Career Fair will take place on Wednesday, October 6 from 4 - 7 p.m.. This fair connects employers with talented undergraduate and graduate students in majors including STEM, business, health, fine arts, humanities, and social sciences. More than 100 employers are participating, including: Amazon, Applied Medical, City Year, Commonwealth of Massachusetts – Dept. of Correction, Dassault Systemes, Dell Technologies, iRobot, MassDOT, MKS Instruments, Novo Nordisk, Procter & Gamble (P&G), Raytheon, Sovos, and The Key Program.

Both career fairs will be virtual on Handshake. Students need to register for the fair(s) of interest and to sign-up to meet with employers. Employers and students engage during 10-minute individual conversations or 30-minute group information sessions. A resume is not required for participation in the fairs, however, if a student wants to apply for any positions employers have posted, a resume will be needed. Some employers will be recruiting for positions that start in the next few months and others are seeking candidates for internships and full-time roles that start in summer 2022 or beyond.

Human Services Recruitment Week
Our third event is Human Services Recruitment Week from November 15 to 19, 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily. This will be an in-person, recruitment tabling series that will take place on South Campus. Two different employers will visit each day and these organizations include: Autism Allies, City of Lowell, Eliot Community Human Services, and Justice Resource Institute. Student registration via Handshake is encouraged but not required.

“Navigating a Virtual Career Fair” Workshops
The Career & Co-op Center is available to support students as they prepare to participate in these recruiting events. “Navigating a Virtual Career Fair” workshops will take place on September 16 and 29 at 4 p.m. via Zoom; the Zoom link is available in Handshake. In addition, drop-in assistance with trained student career peers is available for quick questions and resume reviews. More than 25 hours per week of drop-ins are available and include in-person and virtual options. Visit uml.edu/careeradvising for drop-in times or to schedule an appointment with a professional staff member.
