Come join us. There is still space available for the upcoming Workplace Learning and Development Program, The Heart of Mindfulness: Exploring the Practices of Meditation on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 9 a.m.

The cornerstone of any mindfulness practice is meditation. Formal meditation exercises are employed as a method for steadying the mind, so that one feels empowered to approach every moment, task, and interaction with an attitude of curiosity, receptivity, and wakefulness.

Individuals wishing to get the most out of their pursuit of mindfulness find that learning and practicing formal meditation exercises with an expert instructor, alongside likeminded practitioners, is essential to deepening their understanding and commitment.

There are many types of meditation, and this session will introduce and offer sustained periods of practice in a variety of techniques, such as the body scan; sitting and walking meditation; gentle yoga; and compassion-based practices.

The session provides a setting that promotes not only practice, but also inquiry; participants will be encouraged to raise questions related to impediments they may be experiencing, and will receive tips on how to bring increased energy to their methods of practice, all while building a sense of community.

Special clothing or equipment is not required—please just dress comfortably!
