In the last year, faculty and staff at UMass Lowell have worked incredibly hard to accomplish amazing things in some of the most difficult circumstances in recent memory. With so many employees going out of their way to help each other to ensure we are accomplishing our mission, please remember the tools available to share a quick, public thank you with your colleagues.

We’ve heard lots of stories about how grateful people are of each other as we work together to support our students’ success. A personal thank you to a colleague is always a nice gesture. We have had hundreds of Virtual Shout Outs submitted in the last year where faculty and staff have sent a thank you to colleagues that have gone above and beyond, or maybe made your day a little easier. We encourage you to continue to take advantage of this opportunity to acknowledge your appreciation of others.

Messages will be reviewed for appropriate content before appearing on the site. Messages should be positive in nature, be work-related and without profanity. Recipients will receive an email of the message once reviewed. Login using your UML credentials at www.uml.edu/shoutout to submit a thank you to a colleague or team of colleagues.

We also hope to announce in the coming weeks a new campus award structure. Our former Pillars of Excellence Awards aligned with our concluded 2020 Strategic Plan. And while future strategic planning will undoubtedly incorporate annual awards for excellence, we are committed to celebrating our employees’ outstanding work over the last year later this spring. Stay tuned!
