Biosketch

Dr. Samuel D. Gerber completed his undergraduate degree at Yale University and his medical training at Harvard Medical School. He then completed his postgraduate training at the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Program, a fellowship in Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital, as well as a fellowship in microsurgery at the Medical Research Council in Great Britain. 

He is among the first orthopaedic surgeons in the nation to be awarded sub-specialty certification in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Gerber founded Orthopaedic Surgical Associates of Lowell, P.C. and is a past president of the Massachusetts Orthopaedic Association and prior Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at Lowell General Hospital. Dr. Gerber is an oral examiner for the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, a preceptor for Tufts University School of Medicine, an adjunct faculty in the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, and serves on the Board of Councilors for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Gerber is also an active member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America and the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine.
