Dr. Anya Peters as an Assistant Professor at the University of Massachusetts Lowell School of Nursing.  She earned her PhD in Nursing Education from Widener University, Chester, PA in 2012, where she focused her research on incivility.  She received her Master of Science in Nursing Education from Wilmington University in Newport, DE in 2003. Her area of interest was mentoring new faculty. Dr. Peters’ major research focuses on addressing incivility in nursing education, especially as it relates to recruiting and retaining nursing faculty.  Other research interests include best clinical teaching practices and student outcomes. She is a member of local and international nursing organizations including the Massachusetts Association of Registered Nurses (MARN), Massachusetts Action Coalition, Sigma Theta Tau International, Eastern Nursing Research Society, St. Anselm Nurse Educator Conference Planning Committee, American Nurses Association, and the National League for Nursing. Dr. Peters is certified as a nurse educator.
