Biosketch
Randolph Brashears serves as the Asst. V.C. / Chief of Police for the University Police Department at UMass Lowell.
Chief Brashears is responsible for managing a full-service 24/7 police department of sworn officers, dispatchers, security officers and administrative staff.
Chief Brashears provides law enforcement, safety and security services for all persons and property on the UMass Lowell campus. He is responsible for efficient operation and enforcement of rules and regulations within the department. He also works collaboratively with the City of Lowell law enforcement and community to ensure that laws and ordinances are enforced and that the public peace and safety is maintained.
Chief Brashears' primary responsibility is to provide the campus community with a safe learning environment.
Prior to working at UMass Lowell, Chief Brashears was a commander at the University of Virginia Police Department and a supervisor with the Baltimore County Maryland Police Department. He graduated with a BS degree from the University of Baltimore and a master's certificate from the University of Virginia. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
