Biosketch

Jordan Ellis graduated from the University of Massachusetts Lowell Sociology Department in 2011 and completed a Masters in Sociology at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2014.

Ellis' primary research interests focus around the experiences of students of color throughout the educational pipeline, specifically in higher education. He is particularly interested in the factors that contribute to the academic success of students of color in colleges and universities. He is currently collaborating with Lowell High School’s Partnerships in Achievement of Lowell Students (PALS) program, which is an intervention program that engages at-risk students and prevents them from dropping out of school. Ellis particularly enjoys teaching race and ethnicity to engage UMass Lowell students in this conversation.
