The Early Music Ensemble performs music from a wide variety of styles from before 1750.Open to all students, faculty, staff and community members without audition, the ensemble performance some works with the full ensemble and breaks out into smaller chamber groups for other projects. The Early Music Ensemble performs both secular and sacred works from throughout the time period, and the repertoire selection depends on the instrumentation and voicing of the members enrolled.

Recent exciting performances have included passages from Monteverdi's Orfeo, Palestrina's Missa Pagae Marcelli and Schütz' Psalmen Davids. Smaller projects in recent semesters have included medieval chant, early chansons and madrigals, Dowland lute songs and Baroque instrumental sonatas.
