Promotion & Tenure Guidelines

The Promotion and Tenure policies and procedures are maintained by theProvost Office. Faculty members and librarians that are eligible for tenure and promotion have established a continuous record of excellence in research and scholarship, teaching and service.

PROVOST'S ANNUAL PROMOTION & TENURE WORKSHOP:

Facilitated by campus leaders and sponsored by the Faculty Development Council, the Provost’s Promotion & Tenure Workshops provide best practices to prepare for promotion. A panel of recently promoted colleagues will also provide recommendations to assist candidates. This is a great opportunity to hear questions from colleagues and ask your own! Attendees will receive the 2017-18 P&T Calendar as well as the Provost’s guidelines. Faculty planning to apply for promotion and/or tenure in 2017, future candidates, Department Chairs, and Deans are welcome to attend. Please register by April 21 for this event; lunch will be provided.

Register now for the Provost’s Annual Promotion & Tenure Workshops:

  • Non-Tenure Track Faculty: Monday, May 1, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the University Crossing, in Moloney Hall, Room 260
  • Tenure Track Faculty: Friday, May 5, 2017 from Noon to 4 p.m. at the University Crossing, in Moloney Hall, Room 260

For faculty planning to submit in 2017, the following, additional workshops are intended to prepare you to submit electronic materials:

  • Non-Tenure Track Faculty: Tuesday, June 6, 2017 from 10 a.m. to Noon (location TBD)
  • Tenure Track Faculty: Wednesday, June 7, 2017 from 10 a.m. to Noon (location TBD)
