High touch points such as main building entry ways, elevators and common area spaces will be cleaned frequently.

Cleaning Product Information

The UMass Lowell (UML) Housekeeping team uses Centers for Disease Control (CDC) / Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) COVID-19 approved disinfection products in all routine cleaning. All products provided to the community in cleaning kits and refill stations are also CDC/EPA approved for COVID-19 use.

Classroom Cleaning Standard

Classrooms will be cleaned each morning that classes are in session.

Additionally, the university will supply a “cleaning kit" in each classroom/instructional space. The kit will be composed of one spray bottle, paper towels and user information card.

Students/instructors may supplement cleaning and wipe down desk surfaces at the end/beginning of each class with provided kits. Each morning Facilities Department will re-stock kits for following day use.

Office Cleaning Kits

Faculty and staff are encouraged to use cleaning kits for cleaning their own workspaces and common work areas such as breakrooms and copy rooms.

The university will provide a cleaning kit of one spray bottle, paper towels and user information for each office suite upon request to Facilities Department Service Center.

The office personnel are urged to share the cleaning supplies and are responsible for refilling the spray bottles at a centrally located refilling station. The Facilities Department will replenish paper supplies upon request to the Service Center.
