Welcome to UMass Lowell Rowing. We are a Varsity Club program comprised of experienced rowers and walk-on athletes alike. We believe that a body engaged is a mind engaged. Our students thrive both in the classroom and on water through the mutually supporting challenges of a rigorous academic life and the habits of self-improvement that make good rowers.

UML Rowing is a family. Our family offers the experienced high school rower the opportunity to realize their full potential at the collegiate level. For those without experience, UML Rowing provides the opportunity to successfully engage intercollegiate competition. We also encourage smaller individuals with or without experience, to pursue the role of coxswain. The coxswain is the quarterback of the crew, applying their tactical, motivational and technical skills to racing and training.

The team trains and races at the beautiful UMass Lowell Bellegarde Boathouse.  We compete throughout the Northeast during the fall and spring, including the Head of the Textile, Head of the Charles, the New England Championships and the Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia.

If you are a high school rower, aspiring walk-on, or coxswain who is interested in competing for UMass Lowell, please submit your information on our Prospective Rower form. No experience necessary!

Recruits, walk-ons, alums, parents, friends, the coaching staff welcomes your questions. Please do not hesitate to call or write. We look forward to hearing from you.
