Concert Band Concert

Our Concert Band, a symphonic band at UMass Lowell, is comprised of students of all majors on campus. Our performance this semester features works from wind band composer James Hosay. Black Granite honors those whose names are on the Vietnam Memorial, etched forever into the black granite. Reminiscent Rhapsody: New York 1932,  brings musical images from Rhapsody in Blue and Porgy and Bess in Hosay's reimagined nod to the Gershwin brothers, using their colors and harmonics. Other contemporary composer’s works include Frank Ticheli’s Cajun Folksongs and movie composer Rossano Galante’s haunting Cry of the Last Unicorn. We hope you can join us for this hour and fifteen minute concert with an intermission!

Concert will be held in Durgin Hall's Concert Hall (Room 101).

**Masks are optional, but strongly encouraged for campus visitors.
