Wind Ensemble Concert

The Wind Ensemble, comprised of some of the finest musicians at the University, performs in concert. The concert will feature:  James Curnow’s “Four Colonial Country Dances” a suite of country dance tunes indigenous to New England and particularly Boston in early colonial America;  Ronald Lo Presti’s “Elegy For A Young American” dedicated to the memory of President John F. Kennedy as testament to the vision and commitment of our 35th president as well as a deeply emotional meditation on his tragic passing; and Alfred Reed’s lush treatment of the beautiful English folk song “Greensleeves” and his powerful composition “Russian Christmas Music” based on An ancient Russian Christmas carol and haunting liturgical music of the Eastern Orthodox Church. Dan Lutz conducts.
