Join Jed Foundation's Senior Director of Knowledge & Advising John H. Dunkle as he educates the UMass Lowell community on understanding the current trends in college student mental health. Dunkle will also highlight the role of faculty and staff in creating a community of care at UMass Lowell.
Faculty often find themselves confronted with situations involving distressed students and with questions about how to respond and support them. This workshop will:
1) Provide a brief overview of current trends in college student mental health; 2) Help faculty understand their roles in supporting student mental health;
3) Help faculty identify signs of distress; and
4) Explore steps faculty can take to support their students’ mental health.
