Lucy Kim: Skin Might See

Lucy Kim (she/her) is a visual artist working in sculpture, painting and biological media. Through an aesthetically and materially wide-ranging practice, she looks for ways to disturb the naturalizing mechanisms that structure visual experience, from the seamless transition of a physical subject into an image, to the production of visual salience. Her approach is enthusiastically experimental and physical, whether she is combining mold-making and casting with oil painting, or screen-printing genetically-modified bacteria that produces melanin.
