Distinguished University Professor Lecture

Chancellor Jacqueline Moloney and Provost Joseph Hartman invite you to the Distinguished University Professor Lecture, “The Renewable Energy Renaissance and Why it’s So Important for Our Future,” presented by this year’s University Professor Christopher Niezrecki on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at 4 p.m. Register now.

Mechanical Engineering Prof. and Dept. Chair  Niezrecki is the 13th professor to receive the award since it was established in 2008. His three-year term as Distinguished University Professor will run through August 2023.

Niezrecki  was named Distinguished University Professor thanks in part to his team-building talents. “His ability to bring together researchers and identify promising funding opportunities directly impacts the success of early-career faculty members, in addition to raising the profile of the university,”  Mechanical Engineering Assoc. Prof. Hunter Mack wrote of Niezrecki in his nomination.

Niezrecki is the founding director of the Center for Wind Energy, as well as co-director of the Structural Dynamics and Acoustics Systems Laboratory (SDASL) and the Rist Institute for Sustainability and Energy.
