This fun and informative full day program is recommended for beginner and intermediate kayakers looking to build a solid foundation of kayak touring skills. Our certified instructors will teach ACA Level 1 & Level 2 skills during this full day program. The basic curriculum for this course includes: personal preparation, the paddling environment, boat fit, equipment use, paddle strokes, maneuvers and recovery techniques. The day will unfold with instruction sequenced around an enjoyable shuttled trip on the Merrimack River from Riverfront Park in Tyngsboro to the UMass Lowell Boathouse and with plenty of games, practice and feedback throughout.
