Each spring, the colleges of UMass Lowell host a Welcome Day for accepted students. The Deans of the Colleges will be present to welcome students and parents and speak in depth about their programs, including internship, performance and research opportunities.
Welcome Day times by college
- 8:30 a.m. - Francis College of Engineering, Manning School of Business and the Zuckerberg College of Health Sciences
- 10:30 a.m. - College of Education, College of Fine Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Kennedy College of Sciences
The day is designed to offer accepted students and their families opportunities to learn more about UMass Lowell. For example, the College of Sciences, the Kennedy College of Engineering, and the Zuckerberg College of Health Sciences will offer exploratory tours of their laboratories and facilities. Representatives from Business, Music and Fine Arts will be present to answer questions about their respective areas as well.
Resource Fair, Orientation & Placement Testing
In addition to the academic component of the day, a resource fair has been planned to offer an opportunity to learn more about student life outside of the classroom. Representatives from the Office of Student Affairs, Centers for Learning, Athletics, Residence Life and a host of other departments will be present to speak to you. For your convenience, you will also have an opportunity for guided, in-depth tour of a residence hall and to register for Orientation and Placement Testing.
The day will last until approximately 2 p.m. after a college presentation, department presentations and tours, resource fair and residence hall tours. Lunch is provided.
