UMass Lowell is featured in thousands of reports in all types of media — newspapers, magazines, websites, TV and radio —annually. The university’s media relations team provides assistance to faculty, staff, students and administrators with the goal of gaining external publicity for events, academic programs, research, achievements and more. The media relations team also responds to requests from the press for assistance in finding expert sources among UMass Lowell faculty.
Members of the university community interested in assistance with media relations or media training should submit requests through the University Relations services form or by contacting Christine Gillette.
If possible, requests for press releases should be submitted at least 30 days in advance to ensure there is sufficient time to publicize the event or activity. Please refer to Media Relations Guidelines (pdf) for additional information on dealing with the media and press release procedures.
