John Sharko is a Computer Science doctoral student with a concentration in bioinformatics at the University of Massachusetts/Lowell. He completed his bachelors degree at Columbia College followed by a masters degree in engineering in the Columbia School of Engineering. John has completed innovative research in the enhancement of the RadViz visualization tool resulting in papers being presented at the IEEE InfoVis and IV09 International Visualization conferences. John has also made significant contributions in the area of medical information systems. He has participated in the development of HughesRiskApps, an innovative clinical decision support system. He made particularly significant contributions to the evaluation of the risk of hereditary diseases. John has been on the the faculty of the National Consortium of Breast Centers. John has also taught a class on exploring the Internet.
John is also an identical twin.
