Leland Ackerson, Associate Professor, Department of Public Health
Leland Ackerson is an associate professor in the Department of Public Health. Dr. Ackerson’s research interests are in the social determinants of health, health disparities, macro-level health determinants (such as the built environment), health and non-health policies, and health communications. With the Center, he has focused on public opinion on public health policies aimed at curbing diabetes and obesity, which are met with a surprising amount of partisan and ideological resistance.
