Funding Opportunities

Advance your company's research and development by collaborating with the UMass Lowell Fabric Discovery Center.

Leverage Government Funding for Advancing Applied Research

Advance your company’s research and development by partnering with UMass Lowell faculty and take advantage of government funding opportunities including:

  • Manufacturing USA Institutes – The Fabric Discovery Center combines the research focus and project funding from three Manufacturing USA institutes – AFFOA, NextFlex and ARM.
  • SBRI (SmallBusinessInnovationResearch)/STTR (SmallBusinessTechnology Transfer) Programs – These federally funded programs stimulate research and technology development by funding collaborations between small businesses and nonprofit research institutions.
  • Core Research Facilities Voucher Program for Small Businesses – A program funded by the Massachusetts legislature gives small and medium-sized businesses (<50 FTEs) access to UMass Lowell’s leading-edge research facilities at a discount of up to 70 percent off standard rates. This includes some of the cutting edge research equipment in the Fabric Discovery Center, as well as the full complement of research equipment available through the UMass Lowell Core Research Facility.
