Lightning Talks

  • Lighting Talks are 90-second presentations of your research efforts, teaching innovations, creative works, or community engagement projects. You can also pitch an idea or reach out to potential collaborators on an existing or future project. Your audience will be a broad cross section of the UMass Lowell community: faculty members from across the disciplines, deans, department chairs, and staff.

Format

  • Lightning Talk presenters have the option of preparing a PowerPoint slide that will be displayed during the 90-second presentation. Given the brevity of the presentation, a single slide is recommended.
  • If you are preparing a PowerPoint Slide, please upload to the InfoReady Portal/Lightning Talk Submission Form by November 3 (midnight).

Room Set-Up

  • A podium, microphone, and laptop will be available. A staff member will be stationed in the room to assist with the PPT display (if needed) and to keep track of the 90-second presentation time limit.
