Research Currently in Progress

  • Enzymatic and biomimetic synthesis of materials for environmentally safe flame retardants and polymers for drug delivery systems.

New polymeric materials have been synthesized using enzymes such as Horseradish Peroxidase, and Lipase and their properties have been investigated. Several patents have been granted and patent applications have been filed. This work is being pursued in collaboration with Prof. Ram Nagarajan, Arthur Watterson, Prof. Virinder Parmar, and Lynne Samuelson and Nando Bruno (Solder Center, Natick)
