  • May 17, 2017 - We are very pleased to share with you the 2017 UMass Science and Technology awards. Since 2004, the fund has awarded 104 grants totaling $12.5 million to UMass faculty, which has helped to generate additional funding of $350 million in areas such as medical devices, nano-manufacturing, clinical and translational science, bio-manufacturing, data science, robotics and personalized cancer therapy.   • May 24, 2016 - UMass Lowell technology "A Portable Heavy Metal Detector", Presented by Pradeep Kurup, wins a "TechConnect National Innovation Award” in Washington D.C. This patented technology allows for rapid testing of heavy metal contamination in water, soil and sediments with a portable device for on-site testing. This technology has the promise of creating a safer environment by assisting in the remediation of heavy metals. Read more.
