As part of the educational and economic development missions of the University of Massachusetts Lowell, New Venture Development (NVD) invests in entrepreneurial enterprises with the goal of participating in the formation and launch of successful ventures.
Our current incubator provides space, service and support opportunities for medical device companies in the regional area. The Massachusetts Medical Device Development Center (M2D2) is an intercampus collaboration between UMass Lowell and UMass Medical School in Worcester which leverages the engineering and materials expertise available at the Lowell campus with the medical and clinical expertise available at the Medical School campus in Worcester. M2D2 offers inventors and entrepreneurs easy, affordable, and coordinated access to world-class researchers and resources. Both office and laboratory space are available for early-stage companies in the Wannalancit Mills Building located at 600 Suffolk Street in Lowell, MA.
