The UMass Lowell Office of Research Administration (ORA) provides assistance to faculty and research staff in all aspects of obtaining and managing external research funding. ORA helps to identify funding sources and submit proposals and is the authorized official for proposal submission and award negotiation. ORA assists with administration of grants and contracts from setup through award closeout.
ORA is located on the second floor of Wannalancit Mills. Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The UMass Office of the General Counsel has developed additional guidance (pdf) regarding disclosures related to foreign influence on research.
Principal Investigators, Project Directors, and Key Personnel on NIH and NSF projects should pay particular attention to the referenced notices issued by those agencies on July 10, 2019 (NIH) and July 11, 2019 (NSF), which provide clarification about required disclosures and participation in foreign government talent recruitment programs. The University strongly recommends that researchers seeking sponsorship from other federal agencies also disclose such information.
A list of internal contacts is available to provide guidance on federally-mandated disclosures and other compliance issues.
