Biosketch

Mr. LaTorre is president of L & G Management Consultants, Inc., where he has served since 1997.  He was formerly president and chief operating officer of Engelhard Corporation and a member of its board of directors until he retired in 1997.  LaTorre had been associated with Engelhard Corporation, a worldwide provider of Specialty Chemical Products to the Automotive, Petrochemical, Paper and Allied Industries since 1984.

Prior to joining Engelhard, LaTorre worked for Velcro USA in Manchester, NH,  BASF Corporation and Diamond Shamrock Corporation in various senior management positions.  His first job out of school was with a small chemical manufacturer and distributor in upstate New York. 

LaTorre is very actively involved in higher education and is chairman of UMass Lowell School of Sciences Advisory Board and Nanomanufacturing Executive Board.  He recently stepped down as chairman of the National Engineering Advisory Board at Mercer University, Macon, Ga and serves on Bloomfield College, Bloomfield, NJ Board of Trustees.  He was a member of the Commission on the Future of Higher Education in New Jersey.  LaTorrre was also a board member and vice chairman of the Independent College Fund of New Jersey.

He is a member of Access Management Company, Inc. Advisory Board and a retired board member of Harnischfeger Industries, Inc.

He and his wife, Gloria, have four children and 15 grandchildren. They reside in Holmes Beach, FL, and spend their summers in northwest New Jersey.
