Beth Humberd is an Assistant Professor in the Management Department of the Manning School of Business (MSB). She currently teaches courses in Organizational Behavior to undergraduates and PhD students at the MSB, and previously taught at Boston College and Babson College, at both the undergraduate and MBA levels. Beth’s current research examines women’s workplace experiences across a variety of contexts, such as: how women come to understand their own gender as they advance through organizational leadership; how new mothers’ efficacy in work and home domains shapes their career and workforce choices; and a related stream of research on the experience of fatherhood in the workplace (which has important implications for how we think about gender and work overall).

Her research is published in academic journals such as Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Learning & Education, Academy of Management Perspectives, and Journal of Business & Psychology and has been featured in many popular press outlets, such as Time, Forbes, and The Wall Street Journal. Prior to her academic career, she worked for a number of years in various roles within Corporate Finance and Human Resources at a medical device company and a top accounting firm.
