Louise Oldridge is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Human Resource Management at Nottingham Trent University in the UK. Louise’s research interests include women’s careers, the interaction of informal/unpaid care and work and student carers. Her PhD research examined the care and career experiences of mid life women in formal employment with adult care responsibilities, the conceptualisation of care as work and resultant informal career development of caregiving. Louise is currently working on a project exploring the experiences of young adult carers/caregivers in higher education. She publishes on women’s informal/unpaid caregiving of adults, conceptualising care as informal work and supporting carers in employment. Louise has worked with policy makers in the public sector, collaborating with local authority on carer strategy. She has been involved in the Carework Network since 2017.
