Catherine Sauviat is a senior researcher, at the Institute of Social and Economic Research, a non-profit research institute, linked to the major French trade unions and funded by the French government. She is also an associate professor at the university of Rennes 2 (ISSTO), organizing training sessions for trade unions representatives on employment, healthcare, and pension policies, labor markets and industrial relations. She is currently working on the impacts of globalization on French industrial groups regarding their employment and wage policies, and their modes of adjustment during the economic and financial crisis. She is co-author of La crise du modèle social américain, Presses universitaires de Rennes, 2010 (with L. Lizé) and co-editor of La France du travail, Ires, les éditions de l’atelier, 2009 (with  F. Lefresne et J-M. Pernot). Recent chapters in books include: « La gouvernance des entreprises en France », dans L’état de la France, La découverte, Paris, 2013, « Restructurations au sein d’un groupe multinational: la mise à l’épreuve des relations professionnelles», dans Didry C. et Jobert A.
