Three College of Management students were honored recently for their academic excellence by Financial Executives International at a ceremony in Needham.

FEI, founded in 1931 as the Controllers Institute of America, is a premier professional association for senior and mid-level corporate financial managers with members around the world.

At the event at the Sheraton Needham Hotel, Celia Merullo, an accounting major from Wakefield, was named by FEI as Outstanding Graduating Senior from UMass Lowell’s College of Management. Merullo was presented with the honor by Mary Ellen Morris, a certified public accountant from Chelmsford and member of FEI’s Academic Affairs Committee.

Vinh Le, a junior accounting major from Methuen, and Paul Litchfield, a junior accounting and finance major from Burlington, each received FEI academic scholarships to help finance their senior year at UMass Lowell.
