Assoc. Prof. Jackie Zhang of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering has been selected by the Environmental Water Resources Institute (EWRI) to receive the 2007 Rudolph Hering Medal.
The award citation will read, “For the paper, “Engineered Struvite Precipitation: Impacts of Component-Ion Molar Ratios and pH,” which appeared in the October 2005 issues of the Journal of Environmental Engineering.
The award notification said the selection committee “particularly noted the paper’s contribution to removal and recovery of phosphorous in animal waste treatment systems.”
The medal will be bestowed upon Zhang and three other engineers at the EWRI annual congress to be held in Tampa in May.
