Michael J. Fox and Her Majesty Queen Noor of Jordan have nothing on Profs. Carl Lawton and Stephen McCarthy. While the former two will be offering keynote speeches at this May’s BIO 2007 conference in Boston, Lawton and McCarthy will engage the industry directly.

Lawton will offer a Massachusetts BioManufacturing Center exhibit, showcasing the services the center provides to help biotechnology firms develop procedures that lead to high quality manufacturing of biological products.  Lawton also is featured in a publication PricewaterhouseCoopers is preparing, which also includes an article by UMass President Jack Wilson.

McCarthy will offer information on the Massachusetts Medical Device Development Center (M2D2) in the Merrimack Valley Economic Development Council space and in the UMass exhibit space.  The President’s Office also has produced a brochure highlighting several of UMass Lowell’s biotechnology-related research and business assistance.

BIO 2007 will bring biotechnology-related companies, researchers, universities and health-related firms from around the world to the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center May 6-9. For more information visit
