LOWELL, Mass. – Working professionals and others considering graduate school will have the opportunity to learn about UMass Lowell’s more than 100 online and on-campus programs during an event next week.
Academic program coordinators and staff from Graduate Admissions, Financial Aid and the Registrar’s Office will be on hand at UMass Lowell’s graduate school open house on Wednesday, Jan. 13. The event – which runs from 3 to 7 p.m. at the UMass Lowell Inn & Conference Center, located at 50 Warren St. in Lowell – offers anyone considering graduate school the chance to find out more about UMass Lowell’s nationally accredited programs, as well as the admissions process, financial aid options and even to register for classes.
UMass Lowell offers 42 master’s and 36 doctoral degree programs and more than 70 graduate certificates. Programs are offered on campus, online and in a blended format that combines both options.
Areas of graduate study at UMass Lowell include:
- Public health – a master’s program that prepares participants for leadership positions in the field promoting the health of individuals, communities and the world;
- Education – graduate degrees (including both Ph.D. and Ed.D. programs) in leadership in education, literacy studies, research and evaluation, and math and science education that prepare educators for the next step in their careers;
- Innovation and technological entrepreneurship – a master’s degree that provides engineers, business professionals and scientists with the skills needed to drive innovation in today’s collaborative, global workforce;
- Criminal justice and criminology – master’s, doctorate and certificate programs exploring all aspects of the field, from security studies and leadership development to research into offender behavior and forensic criminology;
- History – a new master’s program offering concentrations in U.S. and global history;
- Global studies – a Ph.D. program bringing together elements of the humanities, arts and social sciences with the goal of training students to become the next generation of leaders in a wide range of roles addressing global issues, such as environmental problems, immigration and cyber-security, that require an understanding of diverse cultures and international relations.
