2 to 6 p.m.

What:  Representatives of nearly 200 for-profit, nonprofit and government employers will come to UMass Lowell to meet with more than 1,000 students seeking jobs, internships and co-operative education opportunities. To accommodate the growing number of employers and students attending the fair, the event will be held at the university’s largest venue – the Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell – and participants may use a new mobile app that will allow job candidates to quickly locate recruiters inside the arena.

The reputation and job-readiness of UMass Lowell students draw top-tier businesses, social-service and government agencies to the university’s career fairs. Raytheon, Procter & Gamble, General Electric, City Year, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and Fidelity Investments are just a few of the employers that will be on hand seeking job candidates. Many UMass Lowell alumni return to campus with their employers for career fairs in search of new hires in further testament to the quality of the students educated at the university.

Employers, students and career-services staff will be available to speak about their goals, the job market and why UMass Lowell students are in demand for jobs. The event is hosted by UMass Lowell’s Career Services and Cooperative Education Center, which provides services including a four-year career development program, interview-coaching, resume-writing, business-etiquette training and more to UMass Lowell students. Note: The career fair is not open to the public but the media is invited to cover the event.

Where:  Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell, 300 Martin Luther King Jr. Way, Lowell. Contact UMass Lowell media relations for directions and parking information.
