ONEprayer Raises Awareness of U.N. Efforts
  Two drop-in sessions on Wednesday, Feb. 6: 
           3 to 4:30 p.m. in McGauvran Student Union
           6 to 7:30 p.m. in Fox Hall

What:   This program is focused on raising awareness about the first United Nations Millennium Development Goal to “eradicate extreme poverty and hunger.” At a series of stations, participants can sign or write letters of advocacy, see images and stories of poverty and hunger, and offer prayers for those affected. This non-denominational event is open to people of all backgrounds; ashes will be distributed in honor of Ash Wednesday.

Friends of Photography Present Exhibit at Dugan

When:  Reception with artists on Wednesday, Feb. 6 from 5 to 7 p.m. Exhibit runs through Thursday, Feb. 14. Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to  4 p.m.

What:   The Friends of Photography group includes UMass Lowell students, alumni, faculty and staff who share a love of the photographic process.  The group presents local and regional exhibitions and organizes an annual fundraiser to support educational programs and workshops for its members.  The exhibit features digital and traditional photography.

Students to Match Wits in College Bowl 
When: Thursday, Feb. 7, 5 p.m.

What: Each year, hundreds of colleges and universities across the country compete in Association of College Unions International College Bowl regional championship tournaments. The academic contest pits the brightest college students against each other in fast-paced competitions in which they face questions on everything from history, literature and science to geography, current events and pop culture.

Weekend Snapshot for Prospective Students
When:  Saturday, Feb. 9, 9:30 a.m.

What:  UML’s College of Arts and Sciences will hold a Weekend Snapshot for its Division of Sciences to give prospective students a chance to learn all about majors and courses, and meet some of the faculty. The morning will include presentations on admissions and programs, followed by a campus tour. A weekend snapshot focusing on the Division of Arts is planned for Saturday, Feb. 16. M2D2 Holds Business Event on South Coast
  Tuesday, Feb. 12, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

What:   The Massachusetts Medical Device Development Center (M2D2) will host an introductory open house for entrepreneurs, inventors and other representatives of small businesses in the medical device industry. The event is designed to educate entrepreneurs on M2D2’s services, including how the center can help them access expertise and funding to grow their ventures. Admission is $25 and includes lunch.
