Center Helps Startups Turn Ideas into Products

WHAT: The Massachusetts Medical Device Development Center (M2D2) is hosting an introductory open house for entrepreneurs, inventors and other representatives of small businesses in the medical device industry. The STTR Collaboration Event is designed to educate entrepreneurs on M2D2’s services, including how the center can help them access funding to grow their ventures through the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Small Business Technology Transfer Program (STTR).
The next deadline to apply for STTR grants is April 5. Through M2D2, UMass Lowell ߝ in partnership with UMass Worcester, MassMEDIC, businesses and investment firms, and with support of the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative ߝ aids emerging medical device companies in important areas like business planning, development of product prototypes and clinical testing.
The cost to attend the event is $25 and includes lunch. Entrepreneurs interested in taking part in the event should go to www.uml.edu/M2D2/collaboration_event.html.
