Workshop Examines Women in Technology

LOWELL ߞ; UMass Lowell will host the third annual Invention to Venture (I2V) conference which brings together experts on commercialization and business leaders and would-be entrepreneurs. This year’s conference will highlight technology entrepreneurship with a special focus on women in technology.

Mary Howard, director of NYDesigns U.S.A., will give the keynote address.  Other speakers include Dr. Abigail Barrow, founder and director of the Massachusetts Technology Transfer Center, and Dr. Valerie Kijewski, associate professor of Marketing at UMass Lowell and director of the Intellectual Property Commercialization Lab. Business leaders and venture capitalists will be on hand for information and networking; participating organizations include StratBridge, Pragmatech, Xceed and the Merrimack Valley Venture Forum.

The conference will be held on Friday, April 20, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., in the MIL conference room, Wannalancit Mills, 600 Suffolk Street, Lowell.  Fees and registration information is available on the website at invention2venture.org.
