Comedy Central’s Christian Finnegan to Perform

When:  Monday, Jan. 22, 7 p.m.

    Campus Recreation Center, corner Aiken and Pawtucket Sts., Lowell

What:  Comedian Christian Finnegan is a regular on The Today Show, Comedy Central’s Chappelle’s Show and Vh1’s Best Week Ever. His appearance at UMass Lowell is part of a campus tour following the release last October of his debut alum, “Two for Flinching.” Other credits include his own half hour special, Comedy Central Presents: Christian Finnegan, The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson and TV Land’s Game Time with Eric O’Shea. Tickets are $10 for UMass Lowell students, now available at, and $20 for the public and at the door.

UVAS Kicks Off New Year

Tuesday, Jan. 23, 7 p.m.

Where: National Park Visitor Center, 246 Market St., Lowell

What:  UMass Lowell’s Community Relations and English Departments, with generous support from Prof. Melissa Pennell, co-sponsor UVAS, the Urban Village Arts Series held the fourth Tuesday of every month. January features Jay Atkinson, Methuen resident and author of “Legends of Winter Hill” and other books; musicians Ill Brutto of Cambridge; and Diana Saenz, author of 15 plays and three books of poetry.
