Pinardi Exhibits Love and Loss at University Gallery


The UMass Lowell University Gallery opens its season with an exhibit of the works of Professor Emeritus Brenda Atwood Pinardi, showcasing her paintings, drawings and latest exploration of retablo-style constructions, now through Oct. 1. An opening reception with an artist gallery talk will be Wednesday, Sept. 15 at 3 p.m. at the gallery in the McGauvran Student Center, UMass Lowell South on Wilder Street.

Pinardi's narrative referrences Greek myth and a recurring theme of love and loss through the use of aquatic imagery. In her most recent compositions, she incorporates mixed media and found objects, which are reminiscent of Mexican religious shrines.

The University Gallery hours are Wednesdays through Fridays, noon to 3 p.m. and Saturdays, 1 to 4 p.m. For more information visit, and click on 'view exhibits'.
