By Lowell Sun

LOWELL -- Ninth year UMass Lowell field hockey coach Shannon Hlebichuk can check off yet another award to cap off the 2010 season, in which her team went 24-0 and captured the NCAA Division II National Championship.

In addition to taking the Northeast-10 Conference Coach of the Year Award and the North Regional Coach of the Year Award, Hlebichuk yesterday was named the 2010 NFHCA DII National Coach of the Year.

The latest accolade was announced at the Coaches Recognition Luncheon yesterday in Baltimore.

This is Hlebichuk's fourth National Coach of the Year award in just nine years at the head of the River Hawk field hockey program. She took home the honor in 2003, 2005 and 2007, as well.
