LOWELL -- Ask most college students what every freshman needs to survive their first year of school, and the list will look something like this.
Ramen. Red Bull. Shower shoes.
But the hundreds of UMass Lowell freshmen who moved into their on-campus housing this weekend were given a different lesson in college survival yesterday -- from an actual "Survivor."
Survivor: Africa winner Ethan Zohn, who recently battled Hodgkin's lymphoma, shared his story of how he tackled both cancer and a cut-throat reality TV competition with UMass Lowell's Class of 2014 inside the university's Campus Recreation Center.
