UMass Lowell's Stacey Moragne, a senior from Evanston, Ill., was named the Northeast-10 Conference men's basketball Player of the Year yesterday.
Moragne was also named to the NE-10 first team, while teammate James Whyte, a senior, was a third-team choice. Last season, Elad Inbar was also honored as the league's top player.
For his career, Moragne ranks among UML's all-time leaders in points (1,391, 10th) and rebounds (604, sixth). A 6-4 forward, Moragne led the NE-10 in scoring with a 22.7 points per game average.
