Stephen Powell has been teaching graduate and undergraduate management courses at UMass Lowell since 1998. Prior to that, he taught in Northeastern University’s business program for twelve years. His professional background includes strategic and operational marketing roles in several industries such as financial services, engineering design software, medical diagnostics and life safety & security systems. His work experience covers the spectrum from venture-funded start-up to established market leader. His most recent roles have been as Director of Product Marketing and Director of Market Intelligence and Strategic Pricing for Tyco SimplexGrinnell, a $2-billion life safety systems and service business.
