Biography

Dr. Annie Yuansha Li joined University of Massachusetts Lowell in June 2011. Prior to that, she was a tenure-track faculty at University of Wisconsin Parkside and a research fellow at Center for Corporate Governance and Financial Policy, Hong Kong Baptist University. She had been a CPA with KPMG and Associate Director of Corporate Finance with a NYSE listed company before entering into academia.

Her scholarship includes work in corporate governance, ownership structure and accounting information in global capital markets. Professor Li has published a number of articles in refereed academic journals including top international journals such as Contemporary Accounting Research and Journal of Business Ethics. She has also published two books and is a columnist on corporate governance in The Hong Kong Economic Journal, the most influential financial daily newspaper in East Asia. Her works on corporate governance and earnings management have received wide attention and several awards including the Fulbright Grant.

Professor Li earned her bachelor's degree in International Accounting and Finance at the Central University of Finance and Economics in Beijing, and received her master's degree in International Business from Lancaster University Management School in the UK and her Ph.D. in Accounting from Hong Kong Baptist University in Hong Kong.
