About

The aim of the Research Associates Program at the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) is to provide a platform in support of scholarly projects, multi-disciplinary collaborations, and industrial research partnerships in the areas of innovation and entrepreneurship at both the micro and macro levels. A wide range of topics includes, but is not limited to:

  • Sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem, development and governance
  • Innovation diffusion within and between organizations
  • University technology commercialization and entrepreneurship
  • New venture creation and incubation process
  • Entrepreneurial financing
  • Entrepreneurship and human capital impacts
  • Organization identity of new ventures
  • Entrepreneurial marketing
  • Marketing innovations, such as mobile marketing
  • New product development
  • Corporate entrepreneurship and corporate venturing


The CIE will help the associates expand the overall resource base for their research projects by providing the following:

  • A supportive intellectual community that consists of researchers with diversified expertise and background
  • The access to local technological and creative startups through campus incubators and technological commercialization projects
  • Student research assistance in support of grant applications and research projects
  • Manning School of Business' Lab and Participation System
  • Networking events with the local business community for potential research and consulting opportunities
