How do you select a warranty for your computer?
UMass Lowell recommends a minimum of a three-year, onsite warranty on a computer used by a student. The Dell onsite warranty means Dell will come in and pick up the broken computer, work on it and return to the student.
The Apple warranty is called AppleCare. You can bring Apple computers to the genius bar in the Apple Store located in the Pheasant Lane Mall in Nashua NH.
The cost of the fourth-year warranty is not worth the price, based on the computer's age.
