Blackboard Learning Management System (LMS)

Blackboard Learn 9.1 is the official Learning Management System (LMS) for the University of Massachusetts. The LMS provides faculty with a robust platform for teaching web-enhanced, blended and fully online courses.

One Blackboard

Access to Blackboard can be found on the Blackboard Portal.

All classes are provided in one instance of Blackboard. There are two teams that support the Learning Management System:

  • Graduate, Online & Professional Studies (GPS) for fully online, summer, winter intersession and graduate courses (hybrid, virtual, and in-person). Support phone: 800-480-3190, 24-hour assistance, Email: onlinelearning@uml.edu

Communication in Blackboard: Faculty use the Announcements, Course Messages or "Mail" in Blackboard to communicate. These messages do not automatically go to your email. To make sure you get your messages, log in to Blackboard and Edit your Notification Settings.

Incorrect password. To change or reset your password use the Mypassword.uml.edu self-service reset.

TA, GA, RA, and/or Grader* Access. This link redirects to the Blackboard Access forms. Teaching Assistant (TA) access forms are initiated by faculty. Learning Assistant (LA) and Grader forms are initiated by students and approved by the instructor of record. Please speak with your faculty member to determine which access form should be completed. Only one form should be completed for each class.

Mobile App

Blackboard has a mobile application

To log in, download the Blackboard App, then select "UMass Lowell" when prompted for your university name.
