  • Access to both systems can be found on the Blackboard Portal.
  • Inside both instances of Blackboard there is a link at the top right of the window to toggle to the other instance that says, "Go to GPS" or "Go to On-Campus".
  • How to Submit an Assignment (Video)
  • Information about Gradescope (Web Page)
  • Communication in Blackboard: Faculty use the Announcements, Course Messages or "Mail" in Blackboard to communicate. These messages do not automatically go to your email. To make sure you get your messages, log in to Blackboard and Edit your Notification Settings.

Common Login Problems & Access Questions

  1. Accessing the wrong web address. The message "No Learn account is available for your external credentials..." is an indication that you are trying to access the wrong instance of Blackboard.
  2. Incorrect password. To change or reset your password use the Mypassword.uml.edu self-service reset.
If this is not working, contact the IT Service Desk during business hours (EST) Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. by phone: 978-934-4357.
  3. TA, GA, RA, and/or Grader* Access. This link goes to the faculty forms page where there are documents that must be signed electronically to be added to a Blackboard course as a TA or Grader.

Mobile App.

Blackboard has a student mobile application for students to log in with any device. There are two apps; the one titled "Blackboard" is the most updated. To log in, download the Bb Student App, then select "UMass Lowell Day School" for On-Campus Blackboard. Some features of Blackboard are not available using the mobile app, such as Discussions. Discussions do not always load on certain devices with specific operating systems.

A complete list of known issues with the Blackboard App is available on the Known Issues page of the Blackboard website.

To access GPS (formerly OCE) courses, log out of the application completely and select “UMass Lowell Online & Continuing Education”.
